Final Modern Evaluation
Overall when looking at my final photos for my modern design I am really happy with how it came out. I think I was panicing a little about the design and how it would look on camera and I wasn't sure if was perfect to how I wanted it. However when I brought up my final images I'm really happy with how they came out and it was exactly how I wanted it, I was also worried about the plait not turning out good however again in one of my final photos above I was really happy with how it came out and looked. I think the accessory at the front of the hair was a good idea and just completed the whole look and made it modern. I feel my previous research to modern 60's really helped me get visuals of what to create and inspiration from designers. As the beehive was much larger it was a struggle getting the height as the hair just wouldn't reach the top so I had to use more grips than expected which did show slightly at the top but I couldn't do anything about it because of the length of the hair. I think if I couldn't improve what I did I think I would of bought a longer wig which would of definitely helped with achieving the height especially with the modern design. During the assessment I did struggle a little finalising the design only because I wanted it to be perfect and how I pictured it however I now think looking at the photos i'm really happy with what I created and I was being a little hard on myself. I really enjoyed creating the 60's modern and could incorporate different ideas into the beehive. I definitely felt this hair design was more challenging than the historical design and really had to concentrate on the structure of the hair and keeping it up while keeping the plait tight and secure. The plait was difficult and took me a few attempts until I was happy with how it looked and then used my grips to hide the lace underneath the hair as the wig has sections of hair and gaps in between. I then used my fingers to separate the plait and make it larger as I wanted it quite chunky at the back. I chose these few photos which I thought best showed my whole design and then finally I created a fashion edit which I overlaid a Chanel art image and changed the opacity so you can faintly see it over the photograph.
